"Numerology is an ancient esoteric science of numbers. It is often called the magic of numbers, but in fact, this science is much closer to astrology than to magic.

Numerology is based on the following principle: all multi-digit numbers can be reduced to single digits (primes from 1 to 9), which correspond to certain occult characteristics that affect a person’s life. That is, for each unique number, certain properties, concepts and images are assigned. As letters of the alphabet can have numerical expression through the serial number, any words or names are subjected to the same numerological operations as numbers.

Skeptics argue that numbers have no occult significance and cannot by themselves influence a person's life. Skeptics therefore regard numerology as a superstition and a pseudoscience that uses numbers to give the subject a veneer of scientific authority. " - Newzs
